Aaj Individual Development & Education Society was born out of a deep sense of responsibility toward society's most vulnerable sections. Founded in 2006 by Akash Katre, the organization was inspired by the stark inequalities witnessed in country. While society often debates the burden of school bags for privileged children, thousands of economically backward children remain deprived of basic education, unaware of what school even means.

Moved by the plight of these children, who were often forced into child labor due to financial hardships, Akash and his team committed themselves to a mission: to provide quality education and opportunities to the socially and financially disadvantaged. The organization’s name, “Aaj,” symbolizes the urgency to act today to shape a better tomorrow.

What began as a humble initiative to bring education to underprivileged children has evolved into a multi-faceted organization tackling poverty, empowering women and youth, and promoting environmental conservation. Over the years, Aaj Individual Development & Education Society has become a beacon of hope for communities in need.
